Cheerio since 1977

Back in 1977 my mother and I were approved as breeders. Yes, in those days breeders had to prove there worth, before they were allowed to get a kennel prefix. For many years we had a very special team work with our Cheerio dogs. In the beginning we had only Old English Sheepdogs. But in 1983 our dear friend, Eva Falck, left us her Tibetan Terrier. It did not take long before we realized this was a very special breed.

CH Sin Padma A´Ni had 2 litters, from which we kept Cheerio Luck Penny and Cheerio Nobless Oblige.

My mother became ill, and I had met Jan, the love of my life. Our old dogs enjoyed their retirement, while Cheerio was on stand by. After some time I began to miss the smell of puppies, the glamour from the show ring and last, but not least, the fun times with dog friends.

We contacted the famous breed specialist, Christel Hoppe, from Hamburg and asked her, if she had a puppy for us. After having waited for ½ a year we could pick up O´Lhi von Lu-Khang. She was certainly worth waiting for. She has fulfilled all our expectations. She is now 13 years young. She has produces 4 litters with 4 different males.

From O`lhi´s last litter we kept Cheerio Easygoing E´Lisha. She has finished her champion title and produced 4 litters with 4 different males. She is now enjoying her retirement.

Recently our household was enlarged. We saw this little goldzobel girl bred by Christel Hoppe. She looked too much like O´Lhi, and her pedigree was too interesting, so we could not resist…
Thank you Christel for letting us have this special sweetheart.

So far it has been 27 years with many wonderful Old English Sheepdogs and Tibetan Terriers, who have marked their presence both in she show ring and in breeding – and even more important as beloved family members! Through the years 31 Cheerio litters have been born.

Cheerio today

Cheerio is “only” Tibetan Terriers.
Cheerio is selective breeding with no more than one litter a year.
Cheerio dogs are bred with health, temperament and type as highest priority.

My fascination of the breed has resulted in, that I have tried my luck as a writer. My first book “Tibetan Terriers – a gift from the roof of the World” written in Danish was released in 2004.My latest book “Tibetan Terriers – The little People” written in English – and much more comprehensive. Released November 2006.

For the past 7 years I have been the editor of “Tibetaneren”, the club magazine for the Tibetan Terrier Club of Denmark. A job that I enjoy, because it gives me a lot of contact with many sweet TT people.
Another job I enjoy is visiting local schools and teaching the children how to interact with dogs.

Cheerio !
